In India, a significant portion of the child population suffers from malnutrition, particularly those from rural, urban poor, scheduled caste, tribal communities, and other disadvantaged backgrounds. Malnutrition not only leads to physical weakness but also compromises the immune system, rendering children susceptible to a range of immunocompromised diseases. This includes conditions like Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), Leukaemia, and Viral Hepatitis, among others.
Childhood, characterized by rapid growth, necessitates adequate nutrition for development and immunity. Severe malnutrition in children under 5 years of age can be fatal. Presently, in West Bengal alone, over 10,000 children suffer from various immunocompromised diseases due to malnutrition.
To address this critical issue, Bansdroni Hridhi has initiated a community-based Nutritional Support Program aimed at bolstering the nutritional intake of immunocompromised children across West Bengal. This program has been expanded to encompass orphaned immunocompromised children, including those diagnosed with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
Additionally, we recognize the plight of uncared elderly persons who often face neglect and lack access to proper nutrition and healthcare. Bansdroni Hridhi has extended its nutritional support efforts to include these vulnerable elderly individuals, aiming to enhance their quality of life and overall health.
We have already commenced providing nutritional assistance to several orphaned immunocompromised children and elderly underprivileged persons. However, our goal is to significantly increase the number of beneficiaries under this program. We are actively working towards expanding our reach and resources to support more children and elderly individuals in need.
Through this project, Bansdroni Hridhi strives to combat malnutrition, strengthen immunity, and provide a foundation for a healthier and more resilient future for vulnerable children and elderly persons in our community. Our commitment remains steadfast in improving the lives of those who are most at risk and ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.
At Bansdroni Hridhi, we believe that access to healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Since our inception, we have remained deeply committed to supporting individuals who are unable to afford costly medical treatments.
Many in our community face critical health challenges but are unable to seek proper medical care due to financial constraints. To bridge this gap, we provide direct assistance to underprivileged patients, helping them access diagnostics, medications, surgeries, and follow-up treatments. Our support ranges from financial aid for medical procedures to guidance through hospital processes and treatment referrals.
In addition to one-on-one support, Bansdroni Hridhi has been consistently organizing free health camps in underserved and remote areas. These camps offer:
General health check-ups
Eye screening and distribution of spectacles
Blood pressure and blood sugar tests
Distribution of basic medicines
Awareness about hygiene, nutrition, and preventive healthcare
We collaborate with local doctors, health professionals, and volunteers to ensure that our camps reach those who need it the most—particularly the elderly, women, and children.
Through these initiatives, we aim not only to treat but also to educate, empower, and uplift the health standards of our community.
Bansdroni Hridhi has been committed to saving lives through its ongoing blood donation initiatives, recognizing the critical need for safe and timely blood supply in hospitals and emergency situations.
Since 2018, we have been organizing annual blood donation camps in collaboration with reputable blood banks and medical institutions. These camps are aimed at encouraging voluntary blood donation, raising awareness about its importance, and building a reliable network of compassionate donors.
2018 – Our first ever camp witnessed an enthusiastic response and laid the foundation for this noble tradition.
2019 – The second consecutive year showed growing community participation and awareness.
2024 – After the pandemic pause, we proudly resumed our blood donation drive with increased safety measures and renewed energy.
2025 – This year’s camp saw record participation, reinforcing our commitment to public health and emergency readiness.
Organized with full medical supervision and hygienic arrangements
Participation from youth, students, working professionals, and senior citizens
Certificates and refreshments provided to all donors
Special health check-ups and awareness talks during the events
Contribution to government and private blood banks to ensure availability in times of need
We believe that “A single pint can save three lives.” Our blood donation drives are not just events—they are lifesaving missions driven by empathy, care, and social responsibility.
If you want to be a part of this life-saving initiative, we welcome you to join us at our next camp or become a regular donor.
Together, we can make a difference—one drop at a time.
