Our team works tirelessly to enhance the lives of underprivileged children and elderly individuals, providing them with the care, respect, and dignity they deserve. Empowering Health, Through Balanced Nutrition
In India, a significant portion of the child population suffers from malnutrition, particularly those from rural, urban poor, scheduled caste, tribal communities, and other disadvantaged backgrounds. Malnutrition not only leads to physical weakness but also compromises the immune system, rendering children susceptible to a range of immunocompromised diseases. This includes conditions like Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), Leukaemia, and Viral Hepatitis, among others.
Childhood, characterized by rapid growth, necessitates adequate nutrition for development and immunity. Severe malnutrition in children under 5 years of age can be fatal. Presently, in West Bengal alone, over 10,000 children suffer from various immunocompromised diseases due to malnutrition.
To address this critical issue, Bansdroni Hridhi has initiated a community-based Nutritional Support Program aimed at bolstering the nutritional intake of immunocompromised children across West Bengal. This program has been expanded to encompass orphaned immunocompromised children, including those diagnosed with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
Additionally, we recognize the plight of uncared elderly persons who often face neglect and lack access to proper nutrition and healthcare. Bansdroni Hridhi has extended its nutritional support efforts to include these vulnerable elderly individuals, aiming to enhance their quality of life and overall health.
We have already commenced providing nutritional assistance to several orphaned immunocompromised children and elderly underprivileged persons. However, our goal is to significantly increase the number of beneficiaries under this program. We are actively working towards expanding our reach and resources to support more children and elderly individuals in need.
Through this project, Bansdroni Hridhi strives to combat malnutrition, strengthen immunity, and provide a foundation for a healthier and more resilient future for vulnerable children and elderly persons in our community. ESO SIKHI: Illuminating Minds, Empowering Futures
At Bansdroni Hridhi, we believe that education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. We believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves access to quality education.Our ESO SIKHI project focuses on providing free tuition to students from underprivileged sectors of society.
We understand the challenges faced by families in lower economic strata, where parents struggle with very low-paying jobs such as rickshaw pullers, daily labourers, and coolies. These families often find it difficult to afford educational support for their childrendue to financial constraints. Recognizing this challenge, Bansdroni Hridhi initiated the ESO SIKHI project to bridge the educational gap and empower these children with opportunities for a brighter future.
We offer tuition classes at no cost to students, covering subjects ranging from mathematics and science to languages and social studies. Beyond academics, we focus on holistic development by organizing workshops, skill-building sessions, and personality development programs. These activities aim to nurture well-rounded individuals equipped for success.Our dedicated team of educators and volunteers serve as mentors, providing guidance and motivation to students facing academic challenges.

Oldphanage: Building Bridges of Care, Honouring Lifetimes
Bansdroni Hridhi's ambitious dream, Oldphanage, is envisioned as a unique initiative — a blend of an old age home and an orphanage situated within the same premises, designed to foster a familial atmosphere filled with love and care by the year 2025. Bansdroni Hridhi has taken concrete steps towards realizing this vision. A suitable plot of land has been acquired at Kamra, Tetulia Village in Begampur Gram Panchayet under Baruipur Sub Division of South 24 Parganas. Construction work has commenced, laying the groundwork for this transformative project.
The concept behind Oldphanage is to create a nurturing environment where senior citizens and orphaned children can find companionship, support, and a sense of belonging akin to a family. It will consist of two separate houses, providing individualized attention and avoiding overcrowding, ensuring each group receives the care they deserve.
The idea extends beyond mere cohabitation; it's about enriching lives through meaningful interactions. Senior citizens often yearn for companionship beyond their peers, and the presence of lively children can bring joy and a sense of purpose. The elders can share their wisdom, engage in teaching and helping with homework, and enjoy activities like storytelling and playing—enhancing their quality of life and reducing feelings of loneliness.
Simultaneously, the children will experience the warmth and care of surrogate grandparents, gaining a supportive family environment they might lack otherwise. They will benefit from moral lessons, academic guidance, and the opportunity to share their daily lives with attentive elders.
Oldphanage operates on a unique principle where residents do not pay fees to stay. Instead, they engage in crafting handicrafts and artifacts, generating income that sustains the facility. This approach fosters self-respect and dignity among the residents, allowing them to contribute meaningfully and live a respected life.
